After spending 10 years training dogs I began to realise that the tools you use when training are vital to success. Its no good having a dog on a fabric long line in the forest that gets stuck on every bramble and collects every twig along the way. Its also not ideal having a young puppy on a short lead that goes tight before the puppy has even passed your knee. Its also no good having high reward treats stuffed at the bottom of your pocket inside a ziplock bag that your cant get to when you need them; which is why the magnetic close treat pouches will be coming soon!

I decided to make my own lead one day which was a 3 metre flat rope lead which was perfect for training but also allowed the dogs to sniff and explore without the lead going tight. I loved this lead so much that I started taking it with me when working with clients and people would ask me where I got it as it was so useful. The rest is history and DHT Design a Lead was born!

I understand that how the lead looks and feels is also really important so I have tried to create leads that feel soft and easy to hold, they come in attractive colours and they are easy to clean and maintain.

I also understand that different people with different dogs, competing in different sports and walking in a wide variety of locations will have different requirements for their leads. I want you to have the lead that does what you want it to do, whether that be a longline with no handle for agility training, a lead with marine grade metalware for frequent beach runners or an adjustable lead that can be lengthened or shortened if needed.
